Blue Nile Chief Merchant Leaves Company

The company also opened its second brick-and-mortar webroom

Blue Nile chief merchant Julie Yoakum has left the e-tailer, and the company is searching for her replacement.

Yoakum, who has worked for the company since 2012, left for another opportunity, says Blue Nile spokesperson Josh Holland.

The company is now searching for a chief digital merchandising officer to lead strategy across its website, mobile applications, and webrooms.

“There are few jobs in all of retail that touch so many disciplines and channels as the chief digital merchandising officer,” said Blue Nile president, chairman, and CEO Harvey Kanter in a statement. “It’s an incredible opportunity.”

In related news, the company has opened its second brick-and-mortar webroom, in the Westchester mall in White Plains, N.Y. At least two more are planned for this year.
