Sally Morrison Joins Diamond Producers Association

The industry vet will lead the new group’s marketing efforts

Sally Morrison, a veteran of Forevermark, World Gold Council, and the De Beers account at JWT, has joined the newly formed Diamond Producers Association as managing director of marketing.

In addition, Jean-Marc Lieberherr, the managing director of Rio Tinto’s diamond business, has been appointed the group’s chairman. Forevermark CEO Stephen Lussier has been appointed vice chair.

Morrison will oversee the group’s marketing activities, including the appointment of an agency partner. She will be based in New York City.

“The [diamond] sector faces a number of challenges, but there are also a number of real opportunities,” said Morrison in a statement. “Most immediately we need to inspire and excite the millennial consumer with the deep and meaningful sentiment that diamonds uniquely offer.”

At World Gold Council, Morrison helped develop the group’s LoveGold campaign. The campaign’s success landed her on JCK’s Power List 2015.
