Gilt Groupe Cuts 45 Jobs

E-commerce site aims for profitability in 2016

Gilt Groupe, the luxury flash-sale site, is laying of 45 employees, including its chief marketing officer and head of international business.

The cuts compromise less than 5 percent of its staff, reports TechCrunch. The chief marketing officer and head of international business positions are being eliminated entirely, as other executives take on those duties.

“While it is always difficult to lose talented people, we are confident the changes we made today position Gilt to be a profitable business in 2016,” said Jennifer Miller, senior vice president of corporate communications, in a statement provided to TechCrunch.
