Steve Shonebarger Dies

Steve Shonebarger, a respected industry veteran who worked for a variety of companies including Corum, Mayors, Harry Winston, and Bulgari, died on May 10 at age 66.

In February, he became vice president of U.S. wholesale for the Italian brand de Grisogono. He had just returned from vacation when he died.

He was also former board member of the Jewelers Vigilance Committee and Jewelry Information Center.

“His passing was sudden and sad, and he will be missed by all of us who had the pleasure of knowing and working with him,” said Giovanni Mattera, de Grisogono brand ambassador, North & Central America. “The entire de Grisogono team send our prayers and thoughts to Steve’s family at this most difficult time.”

Watch blog A Timely Perspective wrote: “He was passionate about watches and about retail and had a wealth of knowledge and experience that he was always willing to share. Quiet and pensive, Steve was the quintessential gentleman.”
