Edward Lewand to Head CIRCA’s New Professional Services Division

CIRCA has hired Edward Lewand to head its professional services division, a new department that will assist appraisers, attorneys, executors of estates, government agencies, and insurance companies in selling their clients’ possessions.

Lewand is an industry veteran and has been an independent jewelry appraiser for 24 years. He is a Gemological Institute of America (GIA) graduate gemologist, a certified member of the Appraisers Association of America (AAA), and a senior accredited member of gems and jewelry in the American Society of Appraisers (ASA). He is an adjunct faculty member at NYU, teaching a course in the art of appraising jewelry, and is also the director of Jewelry Camp, the annual educational program for jewelry lovers from amateur to professional in Westchester, N.Y.

“We are excited to launch this division, as it clearly speaks to a need in the marketplace … We couldn’t be happier to have the good fortune of retaining the services of Edward Lewand, one of the foremost and respected appraisers in the country,” said Richard Tilles, CIRCA president.

“I am thrilled to join such a respected and well-established leader as CIRCA,” Lewand said. “We have an opportunity with our professional services division to answer the needs of many professionals looking to help their clients achieve great value with transparency. I am excited about bringing my years of experience, knowledge, relationships, and passion to their business.”
