Scott Kay Nabs Two David Yurman Veterans

Scott Kay has added two more David Yurman veterans to its team, part of a new plan to reach $500 million in sales.

Tom Kennedy, whose résumé includes work for cosmetic companies and marketing agencies as well as consulting for Yurman, has been named chief commercial officer. John Croston, formerly Yurman’s vice president of manufacturing, has been appointed chief supply chain officer.

The hires were announced by CEO David Minster, himself a Yurman veteran.

“In order to achieve the growth targets to get to $500 million plus in sales, you must hire executives who have been there before,” Minster said in a statement. “These are deeply experienced executives who I have enjoyed working with in the past, and whom I am thrilled to be working with again.”

Kay, who remains chairman of the company, said in a statement: “My direction to David was to build an exceptional team of executives and don’t hold anything back. It took almost a year to put this together, and we got them. With this team in place, and the addition of three other executives coming on very shortly, this will allow me to focus on what I do best: art, expression, sculpture, and design.”

Minster also appointed Blanca Rodriguez as director of sales for the South and Central American markets and the Caribbean. Rodriguez has more than 20 years of industry experience, including  most recently serving as the president and founder of Miami-based BYRL Consulting Group, as well as stints at Jaermann & Stübi watches and fashion jeweler Brosway USA, according to her LinkedIn profile. The goal of her new position is to help grow distribution and brand awareness.
