N.A.G. Elects New Chairman, Vice Chairman

The National Association of Goldsmiths, which serves British and Irish jewelers, has elected a new chairman and vice chairman.

Andrew Hinds, director of U.K. jeweler F. Hinds, has been elected the group’s new chairman. In addition, Simon Johnson of Marmalade in Chiswick was elected as vice chairman.

“The biggest item in the in-tray is clearly the ongoing discussions with the [British Jewellers’ Association] and I expect us to be able to champion the industry even better—both to our customers and the world—as a result of working together,” Hinds said in a statement.

Johnson said that among the trade’s current challenges are Internet sales and a loss of “key skills.”
