Traffic to Jewelry E-tailers Jumps 23 Percent

There’s (potential) gold in those mouse clicks.

The jewelry, luxury goods, and accessories category was one of the top 10 most trafficked online properties by percentage change in November 2013, according to comScore’s monthly ranking of U.S. desktop Web activity.

The jewelry category boasted nearly 23 million unique viewers in November, a 23 percent increase compared to more than 18 million in October. The retail sector as a whole accounted for six of the top seven gaining site categories by percentage change last month as consumers started planning and shopping for the holiday season. The e-card category led the way with a 65 percent increase in unique visitors in November.

The retail websites in the top 50 for desktop activity included Amazon.com, Wal-Mart, Apple, Target, and Best Buy.

The comScore Media Metrix syndicated ratings are based on industry-sanctioned sampling methodologies.
