California Jeweler Donald Elmore Dies

Donald “Mike” Elmore, former owner of Gransbury-Elmore Jewelers and Mike’s Watch Shop in Felton, Calif., died July 18 after suffering a brain hemorrhage.

Elmore worked as a watchmaker-jeweler for 15 years before opening his own store, Gransbury-Elmore Jewelers in 1986, and then ran Mike’s Watch Shop from 1999 to 2010. He was also a volunteer fireman for the Felton Fire Department for 10 years.

He is survived by his wife Joyce; two children, Jennifer (Todd) Meyer of Bonny Doon, Calif., and Scott Elmore of Felton, Calif.; and four granddaughters, Athena Meyer, Katie Meyer, Samantha Elmore, and Jessica Elmore. He is also survived by a brother, Doug Elmore of Pagosa Springs, Colo.; and two sisters, Suzanne Sturges of Mexico, and Roberta Nash of Sun Valley, Nev.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Felton Volunteer Fire Department.
