Mila Kunis Named Gemfields’ New Brand Ambassador

Actress Mila Kunis is the new face of emeralds.

Gemfields, the London-based colored stone producer that owns the Kagem emerald mine in Zambia, announced Feb. 19 that a print advertising campaign featuring Kunis will break in April fashion books including Vogue, Vanity Fair, and W.

Photographed by Mario Sorrenti and styled by Anastasia Barbieri, the campaign features Kunis, who stars in the forthcoming film Oz the Great and Powerful, wearing one-of-a-kind emerald and ruby jewelry designed by six of Gemfields’ jewelry partners: Alexandra Mor, Shaun Leane, Dominic Jones, The Gem Palace, Sutra, and Fabergé, the storied Russian jewelry brand acquired by Gemfields late last year.

“As a company we are passionate about color and fully committed to ethics, transparency and the sustainable development of the communities in which we operate, and finding the right partner who shares these values was vitally important,” Gemfields CEO Ian Harebottle said in a statement. “Mila has blown me away with her energy, enthusiasm and dedication. Her individuality and the natural way in which she expresses her humanity set her apart.”

Besides the print campaign starring Kunis, Gemfields’ 2013 consumer marketing strategy for emeralds includes a revamped website launching this spring, the release of a large format book on emeralds, and the unveiling of a collection of exclusive colored gemstone jewelry designed in collaboration with 37 international designers.
