Customs Patrol Seizes Counterfeit Rolex, Breitling Watches

On Nov. 21, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection announced it had seized a huge cargo of counterfeit watches hidden in containers at the Port of New York/Newark.

The phonies mimicked watches from Rolex, TAG Heuer, Omega, and Breitling.

These counterfeit watches had an estimated domestic value of approximately $220,500, and an estimated manufacturer’s suggested retail price of nearly $62 million. The watches were generally described as “low quality.”

“The CBP officers and import specialists at the Port of New York/Newark work tirelessly to ensure that counterfeit products are seized before they can enter the country and wind up in your home,” said Robert E. Perez, director, field operations New York, in a statement. “These professionals stand united in combating the flow of knock-off products that negatively affects the United States and the world economy.”
