Blue, Pink, and Yellow Diamonds Highlight Upcoming Christie’s Auction



A 3.21 ct. pear-shaped fancy vivid blue diamond ring and an 8.20 ct. pear-shaped fancy purplish-pink diamond ring will be auctioned off alongside the 32.77 ct. Vivid Yellow diamond as part of Christie’s New York’s Magnificent Jewels sale on Oct. 18.

The Vivid Yellow diamond—the golden yellow hue of which is so intense and so deep that the Gemological Institute of America ranks it amongst the rarest of gemstones in its class—is expected to fetch between $6 million to $8 million.

The pear-shaped fancy vivid blue diamond ring is flanked by white side diamonds and its value is estimated at $2.5 million to $3 million. A 2.28 ct. marquise-cut fancy intense blue diamond ring is expected to fetch between $600,000 and $800,000. The pear-shaped fancy purplish-pink diamond ring from Tiffany & Co. could earn between $1.25 million and $1.8 million, while a 5.23 ct. oval-cut fancy pink diamond of is expected to go for $600,000 to $800,000.

Also up for sale is an 11.05 ct. pear-shaped D-color diamond pendant that could rake in $1 million to $1.5 million. 

The sale will also feature a full size Cartier “Tutti Frutti” bracelet of diamonds and carved sapphires, rubies, and emeralds estimated between $600,000 to $800,000. At three inches in width, the piece is the largest of the limited-edition Tutti Frutti bracelets to have come to auction at Christie’s since November 2005. Earlier this year, Christie’s London set a new world auction record of $1.88 million for a Tutti Frutti bracelet.
