Silver Prices Hit 31-Year High

Silver prices hit $32.83 an ounce on Feb. 18, the highest
level in 31 years.

Market watchers called the increase a reaction to unrest in the Middle East,
and predicted
the metal’s price will continue to rise throughout the year.

Silver previously hit $50 an ounce on March 7, 1980. It later lost 50 percent of its value in
an event dubbed “Silver
Thursday.”
