Moshe Mosbacher was elected president of the Diamond Dealers Club of New York Feb. 15, beating former bourse vice president Zvi Farber.
Mosbacher, also a former vice president, ascended to the top job in 2009, following the death of the club’s long-time president Jacob Banda. He won by two-thirds of the votes cast.
In addition, Basant Johari was re-elected vice president, Reuven Kaufman was elected secretary, and Jacob Zupnik was elected treasurer.
Elected to serve on the Board of Directors were Solomon Cohen, Gary Dimenstein, Abraham Einhorn, Meilech Fastag, Jack Friedman, Dov Fruchter, Michael Gross, Roy Herzl, Isaac Jacob, Joseph Khafi, Philip Klein, Moshe Lax, Efraim Reiss, Benny Simkhai, Jacob Weinstock and Moshe Zwiebel. Elected to the Control Committee were Shraga Gancz and Avi Simkhai.
“I am very happy with the results of the election and am extremely honored and encouraged by the outstanding slate of Officers and Directors who were elected to serve,” Mosbacher said in a statement.
