CHARLES & COLVARD

Charles & Colvard, formerly C3 Inc., has announced an arrangement with two international jewelry entities. Prince Egon Frustenberg, an Austrian designer based in Italy, and Breuning, a high-end German design house, will begin designing jewelry created with moissanite. Prince Frustenberg and Gioielli Moiss have developed a moissanite jewelry collection that includes 10 unique pieces. The main piece, a pavé meteorite necklace in white gold with 20 cts. of created moissanite jewels, will be the basis of the collection that will debut in September 2000. Breuning will begin using moissanite in its jewlery designs.

In addition, Charles & Colvard released information regarding its second quarter shipments. Predicting its best quarter to date, approximately 19,000 cts. of created moissanite have been shipped. This reflects a 25% increase sequentially and an 18% increase over the same period in 1999.

Also, Robert S. Thomas has been named CEO and will retain his title as president. Thomas had been acting CEO since the resignation of Jeff Hunter on May 14. Thomas joined the company as president and chief operating officer in June 1998.
