The Southern Jewelry Travelers Association (SJTA) will expand its popular SJTA U educational program beyond the traditional trade show schedule. The new series, called “SJTA U On the Road,” will debut with a “Holiday Selling” program held in Birmingham, Ala., on Nov. 12 and Atlanta, Ga., on Nov. 14.
The Birmingham program will be held at the Wynfrey Hotel at the Riverchase Galleria, and the Atlanta program will be held at the Cobb Galleria Centre. Programs run from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and are open to all retail jewelers. Admission is $30 per person and includes a light dinner. A discounted rate of $20 is available for members of Jewelers of America or Diamond Council of America. Seating is limited.
Titled “Holiday Selling,” the first program in the “SJTA U On the Road” series is designed to help retailers maximize sales opportunities during the crucial holiday selling season. Program speakers include David Peters, director of education, Jewelers of America; Terry Chandler, president, Diamond Council of America; and Kathy Beall, director of buyer relations and education, SJTA.
