Roger Dubuis Limits New Watches to 28

Swiss luxury watchmaker Roger Dubuis offers what he calls “the ultimate luxury accessory”: three new high-end watch collections for women and men. As with all his collections, the new series are limited editions of 28 each.

Each watch is handmade and numbered, encased in 18k rose or white gold, and adorned with hand-painted mother-of-pearl and jeweled dials. They come with hand-sewn crocodile straps or bracelets manufactured without soldering. All are manually wound, and each is marked with the prestigious Geneva Quality Hallmark.

The three limited edition series are:

  • The avant-garde TooMuch collection (shown here) is designed for “men and women who enjoy a lavish lifestyle,” says a spokesperson. Available in three sizes, the elongated, curved rectangular case is turned on its side and placed on a double-banded, hand-sewn crocodile strap. Retail range: $9,500 to $12,500.

  • The LadyMuchMore adds a feminine touch to the brand’s MuchMore series and is designed for “stylish women who require unique timepieces with a strong personality.” Its curved rectangular case is available with or without diamonds and has a sapphire caseback. Suggested retail range: $9,000 to $27,000.

  • The elegant LadySympathie features the Sympathie collection’s famous square-cambered case and is available with or without diamonds. It has a sapphire glass caseback and comes with a hand-sewn crocodile strap with bracelet, with or without diamonds. Retail range: $8,100 to $77,000.

In 1980, after years of rigorous training, Dubuis became an independent watchmaker and opened a workshop in Geneva Switzerland, where he restored complicated mechanical watches of private collectors around the world. Renowned for his know-how, he was enlisted by high-end watchmaking companies to develop new watch mechanisms. He opened his own watch company in 1995 and produced his first two collections (Hommage and Sympathie) in 1996. His brand was admitted to the prestigious Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie exhibition of luxury watchmakers in Geneva in 1999 and entered the North American market the same year.
