CHRISTOFLE DEBUTS THREE NEW BOUTIQUES

Christofle has opened Pavillon Christofle boutiques in three new locations: South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, Calif.; Americana in Manhasset, N.Y.; and the Galleria in Houston. The boutiques offer the renowned Christofle flatware, silverware, crystal, porcelain, and table linens as well as luxury gifts. Christofle opened its first boutique in Paris more than a century ago.

Rogers & Hollands Opens 51st Store

Chicago-based regional jeweler Rogers & Hollands has opened its 51st store, in Wauwatosa, Wis. The new site strengthens the family-owned and -operated firm’s presence in Wisconsin, where it has 11 other stores. In business since 1910, Rogers & Hollands operates stores in Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Indiana.

VIRGINIA’S CAPRI JEWELRY ADDS FOURTH LOCATION

Virginia-based Capri Jewelers has opened its fourth location, a free-standing store next the Virginia Center Commons Mall just outside Richmond. The new 4,000-sq.-ft. building houses Capri Jewelers and another retail operation.

MAX DAVIS RETIRES AFTER 55 YEARS

Max Davis, founder and owner of Davis Diamond Galerie in Sylvania, Ohio, held a retirement sale to mark the end of his 55-year career in the business. He has turned over the day-to-day store operations to his wife, Beverly, and daughter, Melanie.

Davis, originally trained as a watchmaker, first opened Colony Jewelers in the Toledo area in 1950. In 1969, he merged his company with Zale Jewelers and became vice president of Zale’s guild division. He worked with Zale until 1979, when he opened Davis Diamond Galerie.

B. ALSOHNS ON THE MOVE

After 15 years in the town center, B. Alsohns Jewelers of Palm Desert, Calif., has moved to The Gardens on El Paseo in the same town.
