JIC QUADRUPLES RETAILER MEMBERSHIP

The Jewelry Information Center, the public relations arm of the fine jewelry and watch industry, has more than quadrupled its retailer membership for 2000, according to JIC director of membership Carolyn Jacoby.

A new JIC membership dues structure for 2000 allows for Jewelers of America retailers with gross annual sales of less than $750,000 to join JIC for $25. JIC president Lynn Ramsey says the organization wants JIC benefits to be “readily accessible to the smaller independent retailer.”

To facilitate membership dues payment, JA allowed its members to join JIC through the JA 2000 annual renewal billing. Current JIC members also can renew JIC membership when they pay their JA membership.
