Jeweler Raises $1,500 for Red Cross

Curt Parker Jewelers, Clayton, Mo., recently donated $1,500 to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. The money was raised through the sale of the company’s “America’s Pendant,” a red, white, and blue gemstone pendant designed and created in response to the events of Sept. 11. The check was presented by Curt and Elizabeth Parker and store associates to Mary Segneri, special events specialist for the St. Louis Area Chapter of the American Red Cross.

The company also presented a gift of $25,000 to the American Gem Society’s Partnership for Excellence Capital Campaign. A stone dedicated to the Parkers will be set in the colonnade adjoining the Robert M. Shipley building and the new American Gem Society Laboratory building. The stone will be inscribed with the words “Elizabeth and Curt Parker: Dedicated to Education, Technology and Customer Service.”

The campaign will help complete an estimated $4 million project that will include classrooms, a multi-media “Learning Center,” more office space for AGS marketing and membership services, and increased conference and meeting space.
