ICA’s Poster Competition

Calling all graphic designers and gemstone lovers! The deadline to enter the third International Colored Gemstone Association (ICA) international poster competition is Dec. 31. This year’s competition coincides with ICA’s 20th anniversary.

According to the organizing committee—Jaquie Grande (USA), Constantine Wild, (Germany), and Yehuda Kassif (Israel)—the posters should be colorful, 12 in. x 20 in., and show the ICA logo and official name. Designers can add their own slogans.

While the posters should be mainly in English, ICA encourages each designer to add the slogan in his or her national language to express the vast interest in colored gemstones worldwide.

A colored printout of the suggested poster along with a disk with the designed poster in PDF, JPG, EPS, or TIF format should be sent to the coordinator of the Organizing Committee. The file should be no smaller than 36 megabytes, preferably at a resolution of 300 DPI.

All entries will be exhibited at the 2005 ICA Congress in Thailand and will be used by the association in its publications to promote the trade of colored gemstones worldwide.

The judging committee, made up of ICA officials and members of the public, will choose the three best posters for the year. Prizes will be given to the three winners at a gala dinner in Bangkok.

Poster ideas and posters from the first competition can be viewed at www.gemstone.org.

Send entries to Yehuda Kassif 19, Ha’Erez Street, Or Yehuda, 60396 Israel; e-mail: kassifus@yahoo.com, kassifus@zahav.net.il. Please include your mailing address, e-mail address, telephone number, fax number, and a few lines about your background.
