The Gemological Institute of America has been awarded first place in the GemKey magazine Web site Awards 2000 competition. GIA was selected as the best of 15 finalists in the category of Best Lab/Associations/Info – Business-to-Business site.

According to the magazine, GIA was one of more than 3,000 Web sites surveyed before eventually being chosen as the best in its category—one of nine categories overall.
