The Gemological Institute of America’s extension classes will return to the Stuller Inc. headquarters in Lafayette, La., in March 2005. The classes are ideal for industry or seasoned professionals to brush up on the latest in gemology.
The following classes are core requirements for the G.G. diploma:
Diamond Grading, March 7-11, the Institute’s most popular class, teaches participants proficiency in the “four Cs” and GIA’s Diamond Grading System.
Gem Identification, March 14-18, provides the hands-on experience separating natural gemstones from their synthetic counterparts; students learn to identify more than 60 species.
Colored Stone Grading, March 21-23, helps develop skills in grading the color, clarity, and cut-quality factors of a wide range of colored gemstones.
Pearl Grading, March 24, teaches pearl enthusiasts to judge pearl quality.
