Rio Grande’s annual hands-on tools, equipment, and techniques exposition for jewelers takes place Feb. 6-9 at the Tucson East Hilton. Held during the Tucson Gem & Mineral Show, the 2004 Catalog In Motion features 5,000 sq. ft. of instructional work areas dedicated to the jewelry industry’s most exciting new innovations as well as the best traditional products and methods. Admission is free.
The event showcases more than 65 continuous live product demonstrations as well as open question-and-answer forums with leading jewelry industry professionals. Topics include engraving, laser welding, fusion welding, mass finishing, metal forming, and casting. Free, at-the-bench educational opportunities are offered through the show’s exclusive Education In Motion programs, and new classes are offered at an affordable price. These include precious metal clay, pearl stringing, bead stringing, wax carving, metal forming, and stone setting.
