The International Society of Appraisers presented its Lamp of Knowledge Award to AuctionMarketResource.com during the group’s annual conference held April 12-14 in Philadelphia. The award acknowledges the Web site’s developer, Gail Brett Levine, G.G., “for the creation of an outstanding Web site which aids appraisers in quickly finding comparables for gems and jewelry based upon national and international auction results.” AMR recently added the ability to research a piece of jewelry by the carat weight of its primary stone.
AuctionMarketResource.com is an online database containing current auction sales price information and related gemological data on more than 10,000 jewelry items, gemstones, pearls, and diamonds (colorless and colored). Contents range from Georgian to modern-era pieces and are significantly increased twice a year.
Online visitors can purchase search results, buy current issues of the Auction Market Resource book, link to auction houses that participate with AMR, and request consultations with Levine or Howard Rubin, G.G., senior consultant.
Auction Market Resource for Gems and Jewelry, a 1995 Lamp of Knowledge Award winner, is published biannually and is available by subscription only ($195 in the United States and Canada, $250 elsewhere).
