AGS Draws Attention to JCF Fundraiser

The American Gem Society (AGS) will hold its annual charity auction for the Jewelers Charity Fund for Children (JCF) during the AGS conclave April 24-27 in Vancouver, Canada. AGS kicked off its fundraising effort by presenting the book African Renaissance by acclaimed photographer Peter Magubane to Patricia A. Light, JCF executive director, during the JA New York Summer Show. AGS received the book during a recent tour of platinum and diamond mines in South Africa sponsored by the Anglo American Platinum Corp. (Amplats) and the Platinum Guild. AGS executive director Robert W. Bridel presented the book to Light. "I'm honored that during a trip of that importance they would think of me and the children we are helping," she said.
