Zale Corp. cut 60 jobs at his Irving, Tex., headquarters, according to the Dallas Morning News.
About 800 people still work there, the newspaper said.
The news comes as industry speculation about the company’s future grows. The company recently hired a financial advisory firm, and agreed to pay former CEO Neal Goldberg some $600,000 in severance.
