Zale Corp., Dallas, North America’s largest specialty retailer of fine jewelry, reported today that for the first quarter ended Oct. 31 total revenues were $412 million compared to last year’s first quarter revenues of $410 million, an increase of 0.5%.

Comparable store sales for the first quarter decreased 0.6% in constant currencies. Zale Corporation will announce its first quarter fiscal 2003 earnings results on November 14, 2002.

Zale Corp. operates 2,295 retail locations throughout the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico, as well as online. Its brands include Zales Jewelers, Zales Outlet, Zale Direct at www.zales.com, Gordon’s Jewelers, Bailey Banks & Biddle Fine Jewelers, Peoples Jewellers, Mappins Jewellers and Piercing Pagoda.
