Wisconsin Jeweler Dies

Glen Wickersham, founder of the Wickersham Jewelry chain in Wisconsin, died Dec. 3 at the age of 80.

Wickersham served in the Korean War as a tail gunner with the U.S. Air Force, and then attended Elgin Jewelry School in Elgin, Ill. He borrowed $2,000 from his wife’s family in 1959 to open an 800-square foot store in Abbotsford, Wis. His son Jeff now runs the company’s three locations.

Glen Wickersham is survived by his wife, Audrey of Colby; two sons, Robert Wickersham of Spencer, Wis., and Jeff Wickersham of Weston, Wis.; a daughter, Debra Borgemoen of Colby, Wis.; and eight grandchildren. He is further survived by brothers, Harold Wickersham of Kenosha, Wis., and John Wickersham of Delavan, Wis.; and sister, Joyce Deichsel of Delavan.
