The West Coast Jewelry Show (being held Aug. 27-29, at the Westin Century Plaza Hotel & Spa in Los Angles) had sold out of exhibit space and a waiting list had been formed. More than 200 designers and manufacturers will participate in the show, including top-name suppliers, according to show management.
Exhibitors will occupy all exhibit areas on the California level of the hotel. “We are thrilled with the quick and decisive exhibitor response,” said show manager Judy Karlin-Grant. “The excellent exhibitors joining the show right from the start will help attract the right size and kind of buying audience.”

Retail sales and management trainer Harry J. Friedman of the Friedman Group, Marina De Rey, Calif., will be the keynote speaker at the show’s “Holiday Boot Camp for Retail Jewelers” conference, to take place each morning before show hours.
An intensive Friedman Boot Camp session designed to get participants ready to sell for the Holiday Season will be held Aug. 28 from 7:45 a.m. till 10 a.m.
On Aug. 29 at 8 a.m., Diane Warga-Arias of the Diamond Promotion Service will deliver a one-hour presentation on “Making Your In-Store Customer Experience Sizzle for Holiday 2005.” This program will present tactics for creating a luxury shopping experience during the holidays. “If your store brand stands for quality, then your customers will (and should) expect flawless personal service and an exciting shopping experience, no matter how busy you are,” said Warga-Arias.
The West Coast Jewelry Show has roots going back some 50 years. Its lineage is the long-running Pacific Jewelry Show, which took place for many years at the Century Plaza Hotel.
