Watch Sells for $1.2 million at New York Auction



A Patek Philippe Sky Moon Tourbillon sold for $1.2 million at the 2009 Patrizzi & Co auction in New York October 7th. The sum marks the most paid for a wristwatch since the beginning of the economic recession.

The 18k yellow gold double-faced wristwatch features a black dial, a rare metal-color combination.

Roughly 50 people attended the auction. Fourty-five people submitted bids online, along with 60 by phone and absentee bid.

Sales in the auction totaled $3,230,700 million.
