Vitae Ascendere Adds Retail and Collab

New York fine jewelry line Vitae Ascendere has expanded with a retail space at the SoHo Grand Hotel that opened in March as well as a new collaboration with designer Olga Baranova. Baranova, who graduated from the Stroganov Moscow University of Art, moved to New York and debuted her own Beolli brand last year. We checked out Beolli for Vitae Ascendere, as well as the current collection, at the Metal & Smith show last week. The cone ring is one of Baranova’s standout pieces. The ring features more 2.4 carats worth of diamonds, burnished, surrounded by matte and sand-blasted metal for effect. The primary Vitae Ascendere collection, designed by Mark Bronson, is equally eye-arresting, inspired by mathematics, nature, technology, and architecture. He applies the Voronoi architectural concept, which can be seen on buildings and bridges, to the brand’s metal lace collection. Another focus of Vitae Ascendere is the Korean Forsythia leaf, the basis of the brand’s leaf pendants and earrings. Each of these pieces is 3-D printed in wax then cast in 18k gold and hand finished by a craftsman in Vitae Ascendere’s New York studio.

Lace bangles in 18k gold, $2,100 to $2,750

Ball end bracelets come in silver, black ruthenium or white rhodium plating, $650, and 18k rose, white or yellow gold, $1,200 to $1,900
