UN to Learn about Corporate Responsibility From Jewelry Industry at Shanghai Expo

Senior officials from the Chinese government and the United Nations will be at the Shanghai World Expo on Sept. 21 and 22 to attend a workshop in corporate social responsibility and sustainability, during which the applications of these principles by the international jewelry industry will serve as the primary case study.

The event is being organized as part of UNITAR Week in the United Nations Pavilion at the World Expo by the United Nations Institute for Training and Research, in cooperation with CIBJO, the World Jewellery Confederation. UNITAR Week will run Sept. 19 to 26. The workshop takes place Tuesday, Sept. 21, and Wednesday, Sept. 22.
