Trollbeads Distribution Change Blocked by Court

The attempt by Trollbeads’ parent company to take over North
American distribution of the bead line was blocked by a Maryland court, the
company announced.

Lund Trading’s distributorship of Trollbeads “is still in
full force and effect until further notice,” said the temporary restraining
order issued by the Circuit Court for Anne Arundel County, Md., on Jan. 23.
“Dealers shall continue doing business with Lund to the extent that it has in
the past.”

Morten Petersen, CEO and owner of Columbia, Md.–based Lund,
told JCK that Lund’s contract with
Trollbeads “has many more years on it.”

He lamented the legal battle has created “tremendous
confusion” among the company’s retailers.

However, a statement from Lise Aagaard Copenhagen,
Trollbeads’ parent company, said it is “aggressively challenging this order,
and is intending to have the order dissolved by a federal judge by the middle
of this week.”
