Tiffany Worldwide Sales Up 22% in 1Q



Tiffany
& Co.
announced Thursday that their worldwide increased 22
percent in the first quarter. Net sales increased to $633.6 million,
from $517.6 million in last year’s first quarter.

Sales in the
Americas increased 22 percent to $315.3 million. Comparable store sales
rose 15 percent, of which sales in the New York flagship store rose 26
percent and comparable Americas’ branch store sales increased 13
percent. Internet and catalog sales in the Americas rose 23 percent. In
Asia-Pacific, sales increased 50 percent to $122.3 million. In Japan,
sales declined 2 percent to $115.0 million. Sales in Europe rose 25
percent to $68.6 million.
