Third-Generation New Jersey Jeweler Dies

Joseph Wigdor, a third-generation Bayonne, N.J., jeweler,
died April 23 after a long illness, according to a local obit. He was 73.

Wigdor ran the family-owned Wigdor’s Diamond Jewelers until
he sold the store in 1997. Wigdor was a former president of the New Jersey
Jewelers Association.

For 37 years, he presented Miss New Jersey with a 14k gold
New Jersey-shaped pendant set with a diamond stud. The gift was always
presented at Miss New Jersey’s send-off party before she competed in the Miss
America pageant.

He is survived by his daughter, sisters, son-in-law, and two
grandchildren.
