Things Remembered taps Zale executive

Things Remembered, Inc., Highland Heights, Ohio, on Monday appointed Susan H. Davidson as senior VP, merchandise & marketing. Davidson joins Things Remembered from Zale Corp., the nation’s largest specialty jewelry retailer.

Davidson will have direct responsibility for merchandising including product development, buying, merchandise planning, visual marketing, and all aspects of marketing involving external advertising, public relations and direct marketing to the company’s large customer database, the company said in a statement.

“This is a strategic hire that will enable us to intensify our focus on our customers and improve the productivity of our stores,” said Suzanne Sutter, president of Things Remembered.

Davidson commented, “I’m thrilled to be joining the team at Things Remembered. Through personalization, Things Remembered makes gift giving very special. I’m excited about the opportunity to bring my experiences to the company and make a difference.”

Since 1995, Davidson has held a variety of positions with Zale, including president of Zale.com and president of Gordon Jewelry. Davidson’s merchandise career began with May Co. followed by more senior level buying roles with Macy’s and Montgomery Ward. A native of Rochester, New York, Davidson earned a BS in Economics from Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pa.
