The JCK Asia 2002 is canceled

The JCK Asia 2002 show, originally scheduled for July 11-13 at the Conrad International Hotel in Hong Kong, has been canceled.

“The impact of the recent global events and the ongoing economic crisis in Asia has also affected the jewelry industry, said Angel Fu, show general manager in a letter to show participants. “In view of the downturn in regional travel in general, as well as the feedback gathered from the industry. We are concerned that fair participation on the buyer side may not reach expectations by exhibitors, who have made considerable time and financial commitment to participate in the event.

“It is a difficult decision to cancel the 2002 event, but in doing so we hope to better serve the industry requirements for a quality jewelry trade fair in Asia. We are very confident in the concept of JCK with its qualifying buyers program for Asia, but we want to ensure that the event is timed to benefit both exhibitors and trade buyers.”

Fu said that plans are being made to host the show again when the Asian economy recovers.
