Swiss Watch Industry Sees Growth in First Half of 2011

Watch exports continued to grow in the first half of 2011,
according to the Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry.

The export value after the first six months was 8.7 billion
francs, a 19.3 percent increase compared with the first half of 2010.

Wristwatch exports increased 19.6 percent compared with the
first half of 2010. Gold watches played an important role in terms of growth
by value.

The main markets for the Swiss watch industry showed a
positive trend. Exports to Asia increased 24.3 percent, while exports to Europe
advanced 13.3 percent. The United States registered 16.6 percent growth.

The Hong Kong market led in terms of value with a total
value of 1,743.4 million francs, a 23.6 percent increase in value.
