The invitation-only 2006 Swiss Watch by JCK event had a vigorous launch with not one but two evening welcome receptions on June 2, the night before its opening.
The first event was a private reception for top executives of the 23 participating prestigious Swissbrands, co-hosted by officials of the JCK Shows, JCK magazine, and the Venetian Hotel Resort and Casino, where the event is held. “We’re proud to have the show here,” said Robert Goldstein, president of the Venetian, to those assembled. “We’re pleased to welcome you here tonight.”
The several JCK officials included Mark Smelzer and Hedda Schupak, publisher and editor-in-chief, respectively, of JCK magazine, and David Bonaparte, group vice president, JCK Events. The reception was held in the Venetian’s Chinese-style Piazza Club, at the top of the hotel.
The other reception, immediately following it, was the Opening Night VIP Cocktail Reception for officials and important clients of brands in Swiss Watch by JCK, which co-sponsored it with Hearst Magazines. The reception, held in the Venetian’s new Tao Asian Bistro, brought together elite retailers and officials of the Swiss watch brands, the JCK organization and Hearst Magazines, which publishes Esquire, Harper’s Bazaar, House Beautiful, Smart Money, and Town & Country. Guests were treated to a luxurious evening of cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and copies of the Hearst magazines.
Swiss Watch by JCK enables jewelers to schedule private appointments with the prestigious Swiss watch brands in the Venetian’s lavish suites to view not only new watches but also store settings and displays and new marketing campaigns. This year’s contingent includes Baume & Mercier, Bulgari, Corum, Christian Dior, Concord, Dunhill, Ebel, Girard Perregaux, Gucci, Hermès, IWC, Mont Blanc, Porsche Design, Piaget, Roger Dubuis, Swatch Group (including Hamilton, Longines, Rado, Omega, and Tissot), TAG Heuer, Ulysse Nardin, and Zenith.
