Chicago Jewelers’ Association to Mark 145th Anniversary With Gala

The Chicago Jewelers’ Association (CJA) has announced it will celebrate its 145th anniversary with a black-tie gala on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2020, at the Sofitel Chicago Magnificent Mile.

As the oldest jewelers association in the United States, the CJA will honor its rich history with the event titled “Rising to the Challenge Today…Tomorrow…Forever.”

“The Chicagoland area is an important link bridging the east with the west in the jewelry industry,” said CJA president Rodger Kadet in a statement. “We have a strong pulse on what the average American is looking for in the jewelry they wear.”

Guests of the gala will be able to see lit displays commemorating the organization’s milestones, as well as hear from and interact with several  winners of the Tom Foody Scholarship, named for a former member who passed away. “We use events like this to support the scholarship fund, from which we have awarded a quarter of a million dollars in scholarships to Chicago high school students,” said Kadet.

Cocktail music at the event will be provided by Peter Lerner’s jazz trio, and dinner and dancing music will be played by the Gentlemen of Leisure. Guests will also be offered the chance to win a diamond.

For more information about the event, contact Rodger Kadet at 312-609-0500 and visit chicagoja.org.
