Rahaminov Diamonds to Debut New Collection

Los Angeles–based Rahaminov Diamonds has revealed its new Bar jewelry collection, designed for the female self-purchaser. The styles, in 18k gold with diamonds, will be on display at LUXURY by JCK this week.

“We initially launched with the Bar hoops, and the response was so positive among women who don’t want to receive diamonds as a gift, so we decided to create the Bar collection,” said Nicol Goldfiner Barlev, designer and director of jewelry production at Rahaminov. “The Bar collection can be worn day-to-night with ease and is perfect for the woman who wants to add sparkle to her look with jewelry that expresses her lifestyle.”

Christopher Designs to Raffle Oil Painting at JCK Las Vegas

New York–based jeweler Christopher Designs will hold a raffle drawing at its LUXURY booth during the JCK Las Vegas show this week, with one lucky winner going home with an original oil painting created by the jeweler’s founder and designer, Christopher Slowinski.

The drawing is open to all retailers who schedule and attend an appointment with the brand, and the winner will be determined by a drawing on the afternoon of June 3.

The painting, entitled Blended Sensibility, was inspired by one of Slowinski’s trips to London and features pastel shades of yellow, pink, and blue. “As a designer, I’m always fascinated by how disparate styles can merge to create something unique,” said Slowinski in a press release. “Nowhere is this more prevalent than in London, a city so incredibly 21st century, but with a history and varying architectural styles that date back to Roman times.”

Cos Altobelli Releases New Edition of Book on Jewelry Appraising

The American Gem Society (AGS) announced the release of Cos Altobelli’s book The Practical Guide to Jewelry Appraising: Fourth Edition. Altobelli, a third-generation jeweler and president of Altobelli Jewelers in Burbank, Calif., will be on hand for a special signing on June 3 and 4 at the AGS booth during the LUXURY by JCK show.

“The fourth edition of The Practical Guide to Jewelry Appraising is critically important to the professional appraiser,” said Altobelli in a press release. “It includes topics that can be litigious and explains how to circumvent them—particularly when dealing with synthetic and damaged diamonds, as well as wax-set stones. These are issues that are very relevant to appraisers in today’s market environment.”
