Spring edition of the Atlanta Jewelry Show will be held Feb. 28-March 1

New initiatives, new product introductions, breaking trends, and money-saving features are all part of the upcoming Atlanta Jewelry Show Feb. 28-March 1, 2004, at the Cobb Galleria Centre in Atlanta.

The spring edition will bring the new “You Buy, You Fly” buyer loyalty program, an expanded educational program with headliners such as jewelry designer Robert Lee Morris and Marriott International executive Roger Dow, as well as a full-day, pre-show gem identification conference.

“Our goal is to make the Atlanta Jewelry Show more than a way for vendors and retailers to come together to do business,” says Carol Young, executive director of the Southern Jewelry Travelers Association (SJTA), producers and managers of the Atlanta Jewelry Show. “With the business-building features that we currently provide, as well as the new initiatives we’re introducing in 2004, we make it worth everyone’s time and effort to attend.”

Retailers will find a number of new programs and promotions at the show, including:

“You Buy, You Fly.” The buyer loyalty program enables exhibitors to award Delta SkyMiles to attendees based on orders written at the Atlanta Jewelry Show. SJTA has purchased more than four million Delta SkyMiles for exhibitors to award to customers—insuring that virtually all retailers can leave the Atlanta Jewelry Show with miles.

Student Design Competition. As part of its mission to serve the jewelry industry throughout the southeast region, SJTA has partnered with the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) to launch a jewelry design competition for the school’s metals & jewelry students. Created to recognize outstanding work in a host of mediums and give budding designers an inside look at the commercial jewelry industry, the competition will culminate with an awards presentation on March 1.

Product Selection. With more than 800 booths, the Atlanta Jewelry Show will host top name companies and designers in every product category, including antique jewelry, bridal, designer, diamond, pearl, platinum, gold and sterling jewelry, charms, earrings, diamonds, watches, and tools.

“Tanks on Us.” This reward program thanks retailers who pre-register and attend the Atlanta Jewelry Show. All retailers who pre-register receive a special coupon by mail that can be redeemed for a free gas card when they arrive at the show’s registration desk at the Cobb Galleria Centre.

Stuller and SJTA presents “The Ideal Bench” Stuller has partnered with SJTA to provide a unique showcase & display for the “latest and greatest” products. This display on the show floor will incorporate two complete benches and three work stations featuring everything from the newest hand tools to the latest high-technology instruments for goldsmith and gemology applications.

Robert Lee Morris, Marriott International executive and award-winning designer, to headline SJTA U. The SJTA continues to break new ground in its educational offerings with a complete roster of seminars, keynote addresses and hands-on classes. Acclaimed jewelry artist Robert Lee Morris joins the list of industry experts on tap for the upcoming spring show educational series with topics ranging from business ethics to gem identification techniques.
