Robert Wheeler, founder of Wheeler Manufacturing Co. in Lemmon, S.D., died Jan. 5 at the age of 97.
Wheeler founded the company in 1946. He served in the Army and was a World War II veteran. He also served as a fire chief, mayor, school board member, and county commissioner.
He was inducted into the South Dakota Hall of Fame in 1995.
