Sotheby’s will auction the chronograph used by Ferruccio Massara when timing Fausto Coppi’s Cycling World Hour Record at the Velodromo Vigorelli in Milan on Nov. 7, 1942.
The chronograph will be one of the highlights of Sotheby’s Geneva sale of Important Watches May 15.

The silver open-faced keyless lever split-seconds chronograph was made by Ulysee Nardin circa 1915 and will be offered for sale with an estimate of $22,100–$33,200.
Angelo Fausto Coppi won seven Grand Tours, including two Tours de France and five Giro d’Italia, during his 15-year career.
