Hoover & Strong and the Society of North American
Goldsmiths joined to create a new jewelry
design competition that calls for entries that honor the environment. The
Harmony Jewelry Design Competition for production jewelry is named for Hoover
& Strong’s environmentally sustainable Harmony metals, which contestants
will use for their entries.

Professional jewelry makers and jewelry students will compete in separate
categories, each with first-, second-, and third-place awards. This year,
Hoover & Strong will manufacture and distribute the top winning piece, and
proceeds will benefit The Nature Conservancy.

Nationally known jewelry designers will serve as judges. Student winners will
receive scholarships.
