Skier Bode Miller to Promote Hublot Watches

Bode Miller at the Hublot watch factoryBode Miller, the American skier who won the 2008 Overall World Cup title, has become a new member of the Swiss watch brand, Hublot.

The announcement was made in early February prior to the World Championships in Val d’Isère, France, which serves as the start of the 2009 ski season.

Miller, during a recent photo shoot, spent a few hours in the Hublot premises, assembled his own watch, discovered the ability of the men and women who make Hublot watches, and became intrigued with the brand, according to the manufacturer.

“The attraction was immediate, and reciprocal,” Hublot said. The personality of Bode was in many points on line with the values of Hublot and its chief executive officer, Jean-Claude Biver, direct, straightforward, provocative.

Miller twice the Overall World Cup in 2005 (first American in 22 years) and 2008, and is the fifth athlete ever to win World Cup races in all 5 disciplines. In 2007, he left the U.S. Ski National Team to found his own Team America.

Miller also founded the Turtle Ridge Foundation in 2005 to supporting health, diversity, and sustainable living in local communities.

“I am proud and happy to be a supporter of Bode, who is such an exceptional guy. He’s got an incredibly strong mind and positive energy,” Biver said. “We share the same values.”
