Seiko to sell Credor Watch in Japan with Ascher-Cut Diamonds

Seiko Watch Corp. said Thursday it will launch a new luxury Credor-brand model to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the founding of Dutch diamond cutter Royal Ascher along with just one special watch priced at 15 million yen ($128,128), Kyodo News International reports. The watch is sold exclusively in Japan.

The new model, which features Ascher-cut diamonds in the top and bottom parts of the watch case, will go on sale for 1.5 million yen ($12,812) at major department store chains and Credor-Ascher outlets across Japan in mid-October, Seiko Watch said.

The watchmaker in mid-September will launch the special watch containing 230 custom-made Ascher-cut diamonds totaling 6.7 cts. on parts of its case and dial as well as the watch band.
