Samuels Jewelers, the 110-store chain that does business as Gitanjali Retail USA, announced that its holiday comparable store sales rose 9.5 percent over the year before.
Additionally, gross margin percent was up 50 basis-points for the holiday season.
This is the first time Samuels had announced its holiday comps.
“Our performance is primarily due to improvements that we made in our store operations and merchandising,” Nehal Modi, president and CEO of Gitanjali Retail USA, said in a statement. “These improvements included the increased capability of our associates including their improved ownership mentality which provided much better customer service and in-store experience for our customers.”
Gitanjali Retail USA operates 110 stores in 22 states under the names Andrews Jewelers, Rogers Jewelers, Samuels Jewelers, Samuels Diamonds, and Schubach Jewelers. It is considered the sixth largest jewelry chain in the U.S.
