Sampson to retire from Neiman Marcus

The Neiman Marcus Group, Inc., Dallas, announced the retirement of Gerald A. Sampson, president and chief operating officer of Neiman Marcus Stores.

“Gerry has been an integral part of the growth and success that Neiman Marcus Stores has experienced during the nearly ten years that he has served as its President and COO,” said Burton M. Tansky, president and CEO. “In addition to Gerry’s significant contribution to the Neiman Marcus organization, he has also been an effective leader in the Dallas community. We wish Gerry well in what I am sure will be a very active retirement.”

The company said Sampson’s retirement is effective Dec. 31. The company says it will announce the reassignment of Sampson’s duties prior to his departure.

The Neiman Marcus Group includes the Specialty Retail Stores segment, which consists of Neiman Marcus Stores and Bergdorf Goodman, and Neiman Marcus Direct, the direct marketing operation.
